Zedge has had a focus on personalisation over the years, achieving great success on the way. Now, the company is aiming at targeting other domains of application such as entertainment and communication. With Sandstorm meme maker and MARS gif editor (both applications developed by students in previous years), Zedge has been able to take the first steps in this new direction. Both initiatives are meant to give the user the possibility to express themselves through digital content.
For the next project, we wish to take one step further. The objective is to maximize the intensity of the message that is being communicated. To do this, we believe that it is crucial to immerse the identity of the sender as much as possible, so that the message becomes personalized and unique.
The project will be conducted taking into consideration the following steps and requirements:
Develop an Android application
Make use of the ML Kit library for face recognition provided by google
Be able to segment parts of the face of the user or parts of faces found in the content to be used
Integrate and merge both user and content in a way that the message becomes unique and personal
Some ideas to do this:
Extract the eyes and the mouth of the user and integrate them in a random image selected by the user
Estimate the expression of the user by measuring openness of the mouth and the eyes and use this metrics to customize an emoji like image

Export the generated content as a video or a gif
Share the content with friends in your contact list
