The R&D center at Sunndalsøra has a strong R&D environment to support the commercial organisation and the casthouses in developeing new products for customers, otimising production processes for reductions in energy consumtion and melt loss. Recycling of post consumed aluminium scrap becomes increasingly important. We are deeply involved in development programs on alloys being specially designed for higher recycling content as well as developing tools and technologies for our production units enabling increased recycling. We are looking for a research scientist for our mid and downstream research and technology development centre in Norway. The successful candidate will be working with a group of very competent and experienced scientists in the field of Aluminium casthouse processes and products.

Area of Responsibility

  • Work on short and long term R&D projects in the product area
  • Design and execute scientific research experiments
  • Perform material testing and characterisation
  • Write technical reports
  • Support activities towards customers
  • Qualifications

  • M.Sc. or PhD in Materials Science or Physical or Process Metallurgy
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Well organised and structured way of working
  • Proficiency in oral and written English, additional language is an asset
  • Able to give presentations in presence of a group of audience
  • Good communication, cooperation and interpersonal skills
